The Indian tractor sales market experienced a slight increase during the month of August 2026, as revealed by the latest data from the FADA tractor sales. Data on the Indian tractor sales market for August 2026 showed a modest increase in tractor sales. During the month, 87,977 tractors were sold, while 87,244 tractors were sold in August 2025. This led to overall growth of 0.84% compared to the previous year.

Sales of tractors, however, decreased markedly from July 202,6 when the industry sold 1,17,349 retail tractors. This is approximately a 25.03% decrease when compared to the previous month. The month's drop was large, but the market was still slightly up from last year's August sales.

Mahindra has retained its leadership in the tractor segment

Mahindra & Mahindra In August 2026, Limited remained the top player in the Indian tractor market. It sold 20,703 tractors vs 20,159 in August 2025.

Mahindra grew by 2.39% YoY and captured 23.53% of the market share, up from 23.11% the previous year.

Swaraj keeps Second Position held

Swaraj, the tractor arm of Mahindra & Mahindra, remained in the second position in the sales ranking of tractors for August 2026. The company reported 15,914 tractor sales, ahead of 15,428 units in August 2025.

The market share of Swaraj grew from 17.68% to 18.09%, and the growth was 3.15% YoY.

International Tractors recorded a double-digit rise. International Tractors had a double-digit increase.

In August 2026, International Tractors Limited performed among the best of the top tractor companies. Total sales of tractors stood at 11,818, up from 10,586 in the same period last year.

August 2026 was a mixed month for other top tractor manufacturers.

In August 2026, the number of tractors sold by TAFE Limited was 10,780, while in August 2025 it was 11,030. It sold 12.25% of its market share, down 2.26% from the previous year and down 0.39% from the previous year.

The sales of John Deere India tractors rose by 11% to 6,294 units from 5,956 units in August 2025. The company saw a YoY gain of 5.67%, and its market share jumped up from 6.83% to 7.15%.

Eicher Tractors sold 5,590 units, while 6,059 units were sold in August 2025. It had a sales drop of 7.74%, with a market share of 6.35% as compared to 6.94%.

CNH Industrial India sold 4,170 tractors, more than the 3,934 sold in August 2025. The company achieved a YoY growth of 5.99% and a market share of 4.74% compared with 4.51%.

The Others segment saw sales fall by 45.50% to 2,952 units, down from 5,426 units in August 2025.
